Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Claude Code Usage browser extension ("the Extension", "we") handles information. The Extension is designed to be private by default: it reads your usage data from your own Claude account and shows it to you locally. We do not run any servers, and we do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.

What the Extension accesses

Your claude.ai session. To show your limits, the Extension reads the cookies that identify your signed-in Claude session (such as your session key and active organization id) and uses them to request your usage figures directly from claude.ai. This happens in your browser, using the session you are already logged into.
Usage figures. The percentages, reset times and related numbers returned by claude.ai are cached locally in your browser so the popup can open instantly.

What we do NOT do

We do not send your data to us or to any third-party server. The Extension communicates only with claude.ai.
We do not collect analytics, track your browsing, or read the content of any web page.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
We do not use remote code.

Where your data is stored

All data the Extension keeps (the most recent usage numbers) is stored locally on your device using the browser's storage. It never leaves your browser. Removing the Extension deletes this local data.

Permissions

cookies — read your claude.ai session cookie so the Extension can fetch your own usage on your behalf.
storage — cache the latest usage numbers locally for an instant popup.
alarms — refresh the usage numbers periodically in the background.
Access to claude.ai — call the claude.ai usage endpoint with your existing session.

Third-party services

The Extension relies on claude.ai (operated by Anthropic) as the source of your usage data. Your use of claude.ai is governed by Anthropic's own privacy policy and terms. This Extension is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Anthropic.

Children's privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
